Not that it means anything to your point, just one of the 54 things I think I know. I think only the material for the Nagasaki bomb was made here at Hanford. I knew nothing about Hanford. Frankly, I always thought it was all confined to Los Alamos. I would love to see what Obama's legacy will be "when he's president" too. But, my hidden agenda, was to thank you for your comment and your wine suggestions! I am very excited about giving some of these a shot. Bizarre Massachusetts laws prohibit most wineries from shipping their wine to me, so I will need to see what a few local shops carry. I have heard of a few these. Thank you, AM! My husband works there too. Have you heard the fabulous stories about the "hot" tumbleweeds? They were testing the tumbleweeds around Hanford and began spray painting the ones that were radioactive with orange spray paint. They stopped doing that when they found the orange spray painted tumbleweeds down in the Dalles (Oregon). The tumbleweeds get blown all around and eventually some wind up in the Columbia River and float downstream. I love that the Tumbleweeds are still there but now they are just not so blaringly obvious. Sigh. Um yes, it is a huge undertaking. My husband works there too. That's pretty interesting. I didn’t know that either- and I used to camp by the Columbia River. That’s pretty interesting.
